Extra time - 10 mins per hour |
If you normally receive Extra time in exams, you will receive this for online timed exams plus the Additional time given to all students. You will be notified within Loop that you are being allocated Extra Time ( see wording below). If you do not normally receive Extra time in exams you will not receive this for online timed exams; however, you will get the Additional time which all students are receiving. The table below provided by the TEU/ISS gives a breakdown of how much time should be added by the lecturer to your online exams. This is based on the fact that a 1-hour exam is now a 1 hour 20 min exam for all students, the extra time for DLSS students was then calculated based on a 1 hour 20 min exam, not a 1-hour exam.
Adding Extra time on Loop - ISS has automated this for all lecturers.
A message will be displayed on the Loop Exam page confirming if a DLSS student is receiving Extra time for their Loop exam.

- Special furniture ( e.g. height adjustable desks or chairs)
- Noise Cancelling Headphones
Tips for Setting Up an Exam Venue at home:
- Set up the exam room well in advance of the exam starting. Laptop chargers and other charging equipment should be close at hand.
- Remove as much clutter from the desk area as possible. All unnecessary materials should be placed outside the room for the duration of the examination.
- Set up lighting to your preference, by locating near a window if you prefer natural light, or setting up in a dark space with lamp lighting.
- Desks should be placed facing blank walls where possible. This can help reduce visual distraction.
