Zoom Phone Adoption Continues to Grow Across DCU
Following the University-wide rollout of Zoom Phone in July 2025, Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) is pleased to share an update on its adoption and to thank colleagues across DCU for embracing this fully digital communication platform.
In line with the DTS mission to empower staff through modern digital solutions, Zoom Phone has quickly become an integral part of how we connect and collaborate. There are now 1,636 active staff users, who together have made more than 139,000 calls since launch, including 104,000 external and 35,000 internal calls, all without relying on traditional desk phones.

The platform’s resilience was clearly demonstrated during September, traditionally one of the University’s busiest periods. More than 27,000 inbound calls were handled seamlessly through the system. Feedback has been very positive, with the DCU Reception team noting that the “hands-free Zoom Phone is a big win” and highlighting the excellent call quality and stability experienced throughout this peak period.
As adoption continues to grow, DTS remains committed to supporting staff in making the most of Zoom Phone’s features. A full range of guides, videos, and FAQs is available on DCU Help. If your school or unit would find a short demonstration or Q&A session helpful, you are very welcome to contact ian.bell@dcu.ie or reach out via Zoom on extension 8396.
To help us continue to enhance the platform, DTS will shortly introduce a brief post-call feedback survey. Your insights are always appreciated as we work to continually enhance the digital experience across DCU.
