DCU Centre for Children's Literature and Culture

The Centre for Children's Literature and Culture, based in the School of English, was established in 2006 to

    • advance the academic study of children’s literature
    • contribute to scholarship and research in the discipline,  but especially in relation to the history of Irish children's literature
    • support the school’s MA in Children’s and Young Adult Literature degree programme (established in 1997, and the first master’s degree in the discipline offered by an Irish university)
    • create links with national and international bodies engaged with children’s and young adult literature
    • promote children’s and young adult literature across the humanities
    • draw on the expertise of colleagues working in related disciplines.
