Beatrice Scutaru is an Assistant Professor of European History at Dublin City University, where she teaches courses of European and global history. Her main research fields are Migration, the Cold War, and Childhood. Before joining DCU (2018), Beatrice was a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Padua (Italy). Her PhD in History (2013), obtained at the University of Angers, was funded by the Research Excellence Grant, a prestigious competitive grant system of the French Ministry of Education. In 2014-2015, she was awarded an externally funded postdoctoral fellowship and joined a world-leading group of experts on a project dealing with child protection, delinquency and regulation. Between 2015-2017 Beatrice was the PI of a project funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions on the history of Romanian migration to Western Europe.
She speaks five languages, including Romanian, Italian and Spanish, and publishes scholarly outputs mainly in French and English.
