Postgraduate Degree Programmes

DCU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences postgraduate degrees offer cutting edge programmes which will advance your personal or careers goals whatever your reasons for advanced study. We provide a range of postgraduate programmes including Professional Diplomas, Masters degree and Doctorates/PhDs in all of our key areas of expertise.

Our students come not only from Ireland and Europe, but from all corners of the globe. Many come directly from undergraduate studies. Our programme options provide such students with the opportunity to obtain a focused postgraduate degree. Others, have worked for some years and choose one of our postgraduate programmes to help further their professional development or to make a career change. Our experience suggests that we have postgraduate programmes are suitable for students from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds, and our Faculty's programmes will benefit not just those with undergraduate degree in humanities and social sciences, but also those who have studied subjects such as business, science, engineering etc.

You will benefit from the expertise of dedicated lecturers and innovative, engaging approaches to teaching. In DCU you will find academic staff, who are themselves at the cutting edge of research, who are experts in their fields and who are very accessible to you, in small classes and for one-to-one meetings.  You will gain a strengthened ability to think critically, assess information and communicate your ideas along with the necessary practical and IT skills, making graduates of our degrees, excellent innovators, most attractive to employers or creative self-employment. This is evidenced by the fact that DCU consistently has higher employment rates among our graduates one year after graduation, than the figures for the sector as a whole published by the Higher Education Authority.
