The DCU Institute of Education and the Irish National Teachers' Organisation jointly invite you to a 1916 Centenary lecture 'Pearse and Education' - by Professor John Coolahan.

The lecture will be chaired by Sheila Nunan, General Secretary, INTO, and will also feature a response from Professor Dáire Keogh, Deputy President Designate, DCU.

The lecture contextualises Pearse's educational thought and examines his influence on contemporary educational policy. It draws attention to differences between his earlier educational writings and his later work, as reflected in "The Murder Machine". The lecture also deals with Pearse's work as an educational innovator and practitioner.

Refreshments will be served after the event.
