DCU Proxy - SSH

The DCU proxy can also be used to gain SSH access to an external server. You may use an ssh client which supports socks. The example below uses Putty.

SSH Access (Putty)

Firstly set up Putty to use our proxy as below.

  • Tick the Proxy section under Connection
  • At the top select SOCKS5
  • Under Proxy hostname enter proxy.dcu.ie
  • Under Port fill in 1080

Proxy SSH

Then simply click on Session in the top left and use putty as you would normally.
