Fee: €525 - This fee is covered by the Irish government for eligible candidates including those in receipt of unemployment payments and the PUP. Candidates who are in employment will pay 10% of the programme fee.

Course Summary

Bioelectronics is the application of engineering principles to biology, medicine, behavior or health. It advances the fundamental concepts, creates knowledge for the molecular to the organ systems levels, and develops innovative devices or processes for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, for patient rehabilitation, and for improving health.

Bioelectronics most immediate manifestation is in biomedical sensing and instrumentation, but a wide range of existing and potential application of electronics to biology and organic materials to information-processing problems are also part of this subject. It is a relatively new frontier for the attention of electronic and computer engineers, but its importance can only increase with the passage of time.

This module can also be taken as a sample of what is on offer for the MEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering. Credits obtained in this module can be applied to the programmes at a later date.

For all module offerings on Single Module Programmes, applicants should have an honours primary degree (Level 8 NFQ) or equivalent in a cognate area. In the case of all applicants to Dublin City University evidence must be provided of competence in the English language. The English Language requirements of DCU can be found here
