Academic biography

Máire Ní Láimhín is an Assistant Professor in the School of Language, Literacy and Early Childhood Education, Dublin City University. She is a former primary teacher, having taught in both English-medium and Irish-medium schools. Máire's areas of research interest include second language teaching and learning, teacher pedagogical knowledge, teacher language knowledge, language teacher education, curriculum design and implementation, educational policy design and implementation, initial teacher education and teacher professional learning and development. Máire’s current doctoral research focuses on professional learning to teach for the transfer of skills across languages.
