Graduate Law Mentorship Programme
Graduate Law Mentorship Programme

Registration is now open for our Graduate Law Mentorship Programme 2020

The School of Law and Government, the Alumni Office and the Careers Service are delighted to announce the launch of the 2020/ 2021 Graduate Law Mentorship Programme, which is running again this year, following the success of the previous years' programmes. It is DCU's first and only graduate to graduate mentorship programme. We are seeking alumni mentors and mentees.
The programme will run from September 2020 to April 2021, and in the current circumstances of COVID19, it is likely that the programme will take place in a primarily virtual format.
About the programme
Recent graduates will be matched with more senior law graduates (for example, trainee solicitor, solicitor, barrister, those employed elsewhere in the legal field, or those who have chosen alternative careers outside of law). The objective is to provide encouragement and support for graduates in considering/ planning next career steps - for example, applications for internships/ traineeships, or in seeking other alternative opportunities as law graduates. As a mentor, it is a great opportunity to give back and offer any guidance, advice or insights.

Time commitments
The duration of the programme is seven months (from September to April). The programme is flexible in terms of time commitments and means of communication, but participants are encouraged to meet (in person if possible or virtually via
Skype or Zoom) at least three times. Participants can also liaise via email or phone, or whatever platform works best.

Mentor of the Year and Mentee of the Year
Participants will have the opportunity to nominate their Mentor or Mentee for the prestigious Mentor of the Year Award and Mentee of the Year Award.

The programme is open to all alumni with a background in Law, including BCL, EPL, JH and LLM.

Registration for the 2020/21 programme is now open and will close at 5pm on 4th September 2020. Click here to Register.

The Opening Ceremony will take place via Zoom in September [date to be confirmed].
