We are hiring - Student Helpers

Public Services & Outreach are running a pilot Seat Management Project in Cregan Library during the study and exam period and hiring students to assist with this project. 

Duration:

Monday 3rd December 2018 – Friday 14 December 2018 (2 weeks)
Wednesday 2nd January 2019 – Friday 18 January 2019 (3 weeks)

Job Description:

Successful applicants will be expected to work from 8 to16hrs/week for the weeks outlined above and will carry out a range of duties in relation to the pilot Seat Management Project. Precise hours of work will be detailed at interview.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patrolling the library and implementing the Seat Management policy
  • Enforcing a no seat holding policy
  • Collating and disseminating seat management statistics
  • Assisting users with directional questions
  • Patrolling all floors in the library to ensure that noise is kept to a minimum
  • Liaising with colleagues on the Project Team in PS&O Directorate
  • Variation of these duties and any other relevant duties as assigned by the PS&O Associate Director

Experience and Qualifications:

No formal qualifications are required for the post but applicants should have:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Salary scale: €9.55/hr
