O'Reilly Library
A number of study seats are now available to book during the study/exam period from 22 November until 17 December 2021.

Woodlock Hall Library
For access and study in Woodlock Hall Library you will need to Book A Seat online.

Bookings can only be made online via LIBRARY SPACE BOOKINGS

  • Select the Library you wish to use in the Location box.
  • Select Book A Seat in the Category box.
  • Select the date of your booking.
  • Click on the time of your booking. 
  • A green slot indicates a seat is available.
    A red slot indicates the seat has been previously booked.
  • Click on Submit Times (at the bottom of screen).
  • Read the applied Terms & Conditions and click on Continue.
  • Enter your name and DCU email and click on Submit My Booking.
  • You will receive an email. Please verify your booking immediately.
  • You will then receive a confirmation email with your booking details.

Note: Phone or email bookings are not possible.

Upon arrival in the Library, you must report to the Reception Desk to check in before sitting in your designated seat.


All registered DCU students can book a seat. 

  • Each student is permitted to book a maximum of ONE seat in a single day.
  • Block booking a seat over the course of the day will not be possible.
  • Bookings can be made up to one week in advance.


O’Reilly Library (Glasnevin campus):

          Monday to Friday
          09:00 - 13:00     /     13:30 - 17:00

Bookable seats are only available in the Mentoring Suite and the Lounge, both located on the Ground Floor.

Woodlock Hall Library (All Hallows campus)

         Monday to Friday
         10:00 - 13:30pm     /     14:00 - 17:00


When you book a seat you will receive an email to verify your booking, click on the confirmation link within this email within 3 hours.

Once your booking has been verified, you will receive a confirmation email with the library location, seat number, date and time of your booking.

Remember to bring your confirmation email with you when visiting the library.


  • Book A Seat in advance online. 
  • Please ensure that your laptop and/or phone are fully charged. Not all allocated seats will have an accompanying socket.
  • Make sure you have all of the materials you need before attending. 

Remember to bring:
DCU ID card  Confirmation of booking (print or email format acceptable) Face mask Your own supply of paper and stationery

Woodlock Hall Notice: Library collections are unavailable for borrowing and browsing. Printing facilities and laptop loans are also not available.


  • Face masks must be worn correctly and at all times.
  • You must book your seat in advance.
  • You must check in at the Reception Desk before sitting in your designated seat. Please have your DCU ID ready.
  • You must check in within 30 minutes of your booking start time. Otherwise your booking will automatically be cancelled to allow another library user avail of the seat.
  • Quiet Individual Study only.
  • Vacate your seat promptly at the end of your allocated time slot.
  • You must take all personal belongings with you when you leave. 
  • Please use the sanitising stations on entry and located throughout the building.
  • No congregating in groups, changing seats or moving chairs/tables together.
  • Drinks must be carried in a safety cup or bottle.
  • Eating in the library is not permitted. 
  • Only DCU students can book a seat.
  • Cancel your booking if you know you will not make it in, to allow other patrons the chance to book. The cancellation link is in the confirmation email.
  • Do not move tables or chairs.
  • Follow sneeze and coughing etiquette at all times. 

Woodlock Hall Library 

  • Library collections are off limits and browsing is not permitted. 
  • Copiers and printers are not available for use.
  • Laptop loans are not available.
  • Tea/Coffee not permitted. Water bottles only.

Please Note: Non-Compliance with essential health and safety measures may result in immediate removal from the building and may lead to a ban on using the service.


We understand that sometimes things happen at the last minute. If you are unable to attend please cancel your booking so that the seat can be allocated to someone else.  

Cancel your booking by opening your booking confirmation email and clicking on the cancellation link.

As seats are limited, please don’t book a seat unless you intend to use it.

Repeated “No Shows” may lead to a withdrawal of the service.
