DCU Library has several collections of print books across all three libraries.

Use Library Search to look for both books and ebooks.

Main Collection

  • Located across the 1st and 2nd floors.
  • Books are available on 3‑week or 1‑week loan.

Live Wise Book Therapy Collection

The Live Wise Book Therapy Collection supports students and staff in developing and maintaining their physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. It includes a curated range of titles focused on self‑care, resilience, and personal growth.

Main Collection

  • Located on 2nd and 3rd floors.

Reserve Collection

The Reserve Collection contains high‑demand core texts drawn from the Teaching Collection.

  • Located on the 1st floor.
  • Items in this collection,including print books and resource packs, are for library consultation only.

Children's and Young Adult Collection

This collection spans materials from pre‑school to young adult and supports the primary curriculum. It includes:

  • Irish interest and Irish language titles
  • Picture books
  • A wide range of fiction and non‑fiction for children and teens

Location: 1st floor Shelf‑mark prefix: J.

Teaching Collection

The Teaching Collection includes:

  • Current textbooks
  • Class readers
  • How‑to‑teach books
  • Non‑book teaching resources

Its primary purpose is to support students undertaking School Placement. 

Students on School Placement may borrow up to 10 items at a time from this collection.

Live Wise Book Therapy Collection

The Live Wise Book Therapy Collection promotes and supports students and staff in strengthening their own self-care and maintaining their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Philosophy and Theology Collection

  • The Philosophy and Theology Collection covers themes of philosophy, psychology, religions, scripture, Christian literature, theology, canon law, church history, and more.
  • Located on the ground floor.
  • Shelfmark label on the spine of the book contains a prefix ranging from ‘B’ to ‘BZ’.

Main Collection

  • This collection spans most humanities subjects.
  • Located on the ground floor and first floor.

Irish Collection

  • Contains works of Irish interest and context on a multitude of subjects.
  • Located on the first floor.
  • Shelfmark label on the spine of the book contains a prefix ‘IR’.

Ebooks 

The library provides access to over 360,000 ebooks, and the vast majority of these can be found in Library Search.
Click on Available Online in the book record to access the ebook.

To access, you will need to enter your DCU username and password.
