DCU Library are proud to host an exhibition featuring a selection of books from the Hans Christian Andersen Award (2024) Collection.

Presented biennially by IBBY, the Hans Christian Andersen Award is the highest international distinction given to authors and illustrators of children's books.

In 2025, DCU Library acquired the Hans Christian Andersen Award (2024) Collection , which comprises 273 physical books, in 21 different languages. These texts were submitted by the 59 candidates nominated for the award in that year.

The exhibition is facilitated by the School of English and DCU Library, and curated by DCU's MA in Children's & Young Adult Literature students.

An accompanying library guide for the exhibition, created by the DCU MA in Children's & Young Adult Literature, comprises overviews of the books in the collection they chose to feature.

The exhibition will be launched by Liz Page, the former Executive Director of IBBY, and Valerie Coghlan, President of Bookbird Inc., the management board for IBBY's journal, Bookbird.
