New Students Welcome to DCU Library

 

We have two libraries O’Reilly Library, located on DCU Glasnevin Campus and Cregan library, located on DCU St Patricks Campus which provide comfortable, flexible study spaces, extensive collections of information sources and access to expert help and advice for all of our students.

  • DCU ID card
    You DCU ID card is alos your library card.
    Bring your DCU student ID card with you to enter and exit the library. You also use it to borrow/return books and using the printers/photocopiers. 
    It is a breach of library regulations to allow another person to use one's Identity Card or Membership Card in connection with any use of the Library, or to use another person's card.

1. Library Information Guide

Pick up or view a Library Guide for all the essential information you need in one booklet

2. Library PIN

You'll need your library pin to log in to your online library account, to renew and reserve books and to pay fines.  Available from the Issue Desk

3. 48 Hour Loans

These books are for essential reading and are usually on your reading list.
They are identified with a red tag on the spine of the book; you can borrow 2 x 48 hour loans books; don't forget to print out receipt when borrowing these books and check exact time for return; they cannot be renewed or reserved and fines - 50c per hour overdue

4. How to avoid fines

  • by checking the return date/time on print receipt or email receipt
  • by checking your online Library Account
  • by renewing your books via telephone
  • by renewing by email

5. DCU Student ID card

6. Group Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms are intended for students who wish to collaborate in groups for projects or other work.
