Dr Ciaran Maguire from Particular Science highlighted technology to characterise EVs and exosomes, and Dr Barry O’Connell from DCU’s Nano Research Facility spoke about digital detectors in biological applications.
Erasmus student Andrew Kisitu shared insights about unsupervised network anomaly detection in colorectal cancer, particularly about learning what healthy tissue looks like, and measuring the distance from it. And Prof Enda McGlynn from the School of Physical Sciences DCU talked about the potential for nanomaterials in point-of-care diagnostics.
