TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) was established in 1984 as a nonprofit organisation, committed to bringing together specialists to inspire and to spread ideas on the world's latest advancements. In TED's own words, it is a 'global community which welcomes people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world'.

Ger is currently Vice President of New Product Development, Medical Diagnostics, at General Healthcare Group in New York. He previously held the post of General Manager of Advanced Systems at GE Healthcare in Sweden.

Ger graduated top of his class in DCU's first cohort of students on the BSc in Biotechnology and received his PhD under the supervision of Dr Michael O'Connell, School of Biotechnology
