Take 5 at DCU
Transition year and 5th year pupils have taken part in the Take 5 Summer School as part of a joint initiative between the access programmes of DCU, Dublin Institute of Technology, NUI Maynooth, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. The initiative is designed to give students an opportunity to explore the various options available to them at third-level by spending a day on the campus of each institution.
The summer school runs over five days with pupils spending a day in each college, getting involved in taster student activities, attending lectures and experiencing all the facilities on each campus. The participants of Take 5 also complete a project over the five days in one of the following areas: photography, drama, marketing or music. This very successful initiative has been running since 2000.
