DCU aiming for All-Ireland double

DCU will be aiming for an All-Ireland double when they travel to Tralee to take on University of Limerick in the O'Connor Cup semi-final at 3.30pm in John Mitchells GAA Club, today (Friday, March 11th).

In the other semi-final, UCC face UCD, also in John Mitchells, at the earlier time of 12.30pm.

The Dublin side, managed by Stephen Maxwell, James Costello and former Dublin and O'Connor Cup winner Niamh McEvoy face a formidable task against UL who are chasing three-in-a row O'Connor Cup titles. DCU, who captured the All-Ireland League crown last November will be hoping to add the prestigious O'Connor Cup to this year's achievements.

Back-boned by a host of inter-county stars, including Sara Rowe (Mayo), Leah Caffrey (Dublin), Siobhan Woods (Dublin, DCU captain) and Michelle Farrell (Longford) and buoyed by their impressive displays in the qualifying stages, defeating Queens University, Belfast and Maynooth University, DCU enter this year's semi-final in confident form but are aware that a top class performance is required against the reigning champions.

The 2016 O'Connor Cup Final takes place at 3.00pm in John Mitchells GAA Club, Tralee on Saturday, March 11th.
