DCU wins national moot competition for second year in a row

DCU hosted the National Moot Court competition at the Criminal Courts of Justice in Parkgate Street on Saturday 12 November.

Out of twenty teams from across seven institutions, our team of Ciaran Campbell, Matthew Creane and Patrick Dunne reached the final to beat TCD.  Ciaran Campbell was also named as best individual speaker.

The final was judged by two Supreme Court judges, John MacMenamin and Iseult O'Malley, and Sharon O'Connor from Matheson (who sponsored the competition). In addition, our team of Eva McQuaid, Conor Leavy and Aoife Nolan won the best memorials (for their written submissions).  This is the second year in a row that DCU has won all the major prizes in this prestigious competition.  Dr Aisling de Paor of DCU's School of Law & Government prepared the DCU team for this major success.
