DCU launches Brexit Research and Policy Institute

Dublin City University has today launched a Brexit Research and Policy Institute to explore the ongoing impact of Brexit on government, business and society at large.

The new Institute will bring together experts from a number of DCU’s faculties, connecting them with specialists in Ireland, the EU and beyond to encourage analysis of the major legal, political and economic challenges raised by Brexit. It aims to be the leading platform to document and debate developments in relations between the UK and EU.

Commenting on the launch, Federico Fabbrini, Institute Principal and Professor of European Law at the School of Law & Government, DCU, said:

“On 23 June 2017, exactly one year after the 2016 referendum in which the UK voted to leave the European Union, we are delighted to be in a position to launch the DCU Brexit Institute, the first centre of its kind in Ireland and Europe.

We have such a wealth of expertise in this area across a number of schools at DCU, and with contributions from leading academics and policy makers in Ireland and beyond, we believe it will be the leading hub encouraging in-depth analysis of the implications of Brexit from both an academic and a policy perspective."
