Centre for Children’s Literature and Culture partners with Children’s Books Ireland

The Centre for Children's Literature and Culture, School of English, DCU, is delighted to partner with CBI (Children's Books Ireland) on its Bold Girls project: a project to celebrate women and girls in children’s books to mark the centenary of women’s suffrage in the UK and Ireland next year.

The Bold Girls project, which will launch on International Women’s Day 2018 (8 March), will see Dr Keith O’Sullivan, associate professor in the school and director of the centre, partner CBI to produce a school resource pack to complement an 88-page Bold Girls’ Reading Guide, which will offer reviews of 122 English and Irish language children’s books that feature strong women and girls, while highlighting the works of 18 Irish female children’s authors and illustrators.
