DCU to host Institute of Guidance Counsellors Conference

This coming Friday (October 19th) and Saturday (October 20th), DCU will host the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC) annual conference.

Over 470 Guidance Counsellors are expected to attend the upcoming event which also marks the 50th anniversary of the organisation.

The conference will be attended by Minister of State for Higher Education, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, keynote speakers Ian Power, Executive Director of Spunout, Prof. Brian MacCraith, President of DCU and Dr Geoffrey Shannon, Solicitor and Leading Authority on Child & Family Law.

The theme of this year's conference is "Guidance Counselling- Flourishing in a Diverse Society" and in addition to a wide range of presentations and speakers, there is a variety of CPD (Continuous Professional Development) offerings on gender diversity, autism, social media and much more at the two-day event which also includes 64 exhibitors from all areas of Guidance support.

The IGC 2018 Conference is proudly supported by DCU, SOLAS and Maynooth University.
