IGHN Webinar: Mental health, stigma and vulnerable groups in the COVID19 pandemic context

A weekly webinar series Conversations on COVID-19 hosted by the Irish Global Health Network (IGHN) and the ESTHER Alliance for Global Partnerships and supported by the DCU School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health will continue this week (1-2pm on Friday 24 April 2020). This week’s webinar will focus on mental health, stigma and vulnerable groups in the COVID19 pandemic context.

Professor Anne Matthews of the School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health at DCU, who has been Chairperson of the IGHN since 2017, said:

“Reacting to the COVID19 pandemic was a priority for IGHN and our first webinar was held on 2 March 2020. From the start we included voices and perspectives from the global South, knowing that the impact of the pandemic would be immense in resource-constrained settings”.

The IGHN is funded by Irish Aid and works with key development partners internationally and nationally, supporting A Better World: Ireland’s policy for International Development. It joined other development partners recently to applaud the Irish government’s strategic alliance and support for the World Health Organisation. IGHN hosts a dedicated COVID-19 webpage of key resources for health professional and global health workers and will continue to support the global health community through networking, knowledge sharing and action.
