Find out about Access students who support our Outreach and Post Entry Programmes.
In September this year, DCU Access recruited and trained 36 Access Ambassadors to work alongside Access staff on different initiatives both on our Outreach Programme and Post Entry Programme. These students support the work of the Service and are invaluable to the programmes in many ways. They act as mentors to students on outreach programmes, offering advice and sharing their knowledge and experiences of college. Access Ambassadors first Post Entry event is the Access Orientation, where incoming first year students spend three days on DCU Campus before the general student Orientation. Our Ambassadors welcome new first years and help them settle into college life. They answer any questions or concerns the incoming students might have and help them navigate their way around the campus. We would like to thank all of our Ambassadors for the hard work, dedication, commitment and passion they bring to the role. Their willingness to give back to the Access Service and encourage students from our linked schools to aspire to third level is admirable. What to get involved in our Ambassador scheme?
