Christine Farrell

Christine Farrell is a Bachelor of Business Studies with INTRA graduate who is currently President of DCU Students' Union.

Christine’s commitment to engaging in student life within DCU started in her first year when she began her journey of being a heavily involved member of the Students Union. She was elected Class Rep for the four years of her undergraduate studies and was recognised as Class Rep of the year in 2017 at the  DCU SU awards. Christine’s engagement with the Student Union didn’t stop there as she was INTRA Officer for Class Rep Council for three consecutive years where she set up INTRA peer to peer talks and created an open communication channel for students and the SU to serve over 1,000 students who go out on INTRA placement every year. Christine was also heavily involved in multiple SU campaigns and elections over the four years of her undergraduate course and was nominated for Class Rep of the year on a national level in her final year under the Student Achievement Awards Ireland (SAAI) 2019.

Due to a passion for events and organisation, Christine's engagement in university life was not limited to that of the Students Union but also expanded into Clubs and Society life here in DCU. Having served as a member on the DCU Saint Vincent De Paul Committee for two years and the Accounting and Finance Society committee for four years,Christine held positions such as PRO, Events Officer, Sponsorship Manager and Promotions Team.  Christine’s volunteering also spread outside of DCU where she has been a committed volunteer with the Oblate Youth Service having spent four consecutive years travelling to Lourdes every September to assist sick guests on pilgrimage as well as assisting in the organisation and fundraising of the pilgrimage whilst in Dublin.
