Step 1: Applications

You should accept your offer as outlined in your offer letter, through the DCU Application Portal. 

Step 2: Welcome Information

After an offer has been accepted, you will receive an email to explain how to set up your DCU Account and Access DCU systems. 

This happens on a rolling basis and all students will receive this information before the start of term. 

Once you complete the process, you will receive your personal DCU email address and create a password. 

You will require this account to access DCU systems, to register for your course and to pay fees. 

Should you have any questions about accessing DCU systems, please contact DCU’s Digital Technology Solutions Team (DTS).

Step 3: Registration

Before coming to DCU, you must register online for your course and your modules and pay your fees.

You’ll need the registration information and instructions from Step 2 to do so.

Registration for first year postgraduate students, including Postgraduate Research, takes place from Wednesday 20 August.

Student ID Cards

Once Registration has been completed, you can order your ID card online by following the instructions here. Or alternatively, visit the Registry offices on either the Glasnevin or St Patrick’s campus.

The Discover Series: Your Roadmap to Success

The Discover Series is an essential online programme hosted on Loop. Designed as a comprehensive roadmap for navigating university life. It will help you to develop and refine core skills necessary for those returning to education and long-term academic and personal success. 

This resource is available after you onboard your DCU account from mid August. Visit dcu.ie/orientation for more information. 

Programme Orientation

Programme Orientation will take place between Monday 31 August and 11 September, depending on your programme. Some programmes will have a pre-class Orientation while others may have an orientation when classes commence. Orientation schedules will be available in late August on the Orientation Hub or from your Programme Team. 

Information Webinars

Join us from Wednesday, 2 September to Friday, 4 September 2026 for:

• Student Support Information Series: Short daily sessions from 12pm to 2pm, designed to help you get a head start. Topics include guidance on reading your timetable, DCU systems, and an introduction to the wide range of wellbeing and support services.
• Active*Consent Webinars: A vital and mandatory step in joining our inclusive community. These sessions are organised by faculty. If you miss your group, you can attend the next available session. 

New to Ireland? 

International Orientation: Tuesday, 1 September A webinar series designed to provide essential information for navigating a new academic system, understanding cultural life in Ireland, and connecting with other international students.

Classes commence

Classes commence for postgraduate programmes the week of Monday 7 September.

Fees Queries

Fees should be paid as part of the online registration process, as outlined under Step 1.

If your employer  is paying your fees, please complete this form. You can also designate a third party to pay online as part of the online fee payment process. 60% of your fees must be paid at this time, and the balance of 40% on or before Monday, 25 January 2027.

If you have a SUSI grant, you are required to pay 60% of the total fees less the €5,000 (Levies not included) SUSI award. You must have your SUSI application number during the registration process.

Check out Student Support & Development's guide to Postgraduate Orientation at www.dcu.ie/orientation.  Shortly after  registration, you will be able to log in to 'My DCU-PG’ (the online orientation programme designed to support your student experience) on the Loop platform.

Alumni Discount

DCU offers a 10% reduced fee scheme exclusive to all DCU graduates and outgoing final year students. It applies to any full time or part time taught Masters Programme for the 2025/26 academic year. The discount will be applied upon your payment of the second instalment of your fees in January.
