  • Cost: Provided at no additional cost.
  • Availability: Phone helpline 24/7/365.
  • Provider: Spectrum Life (DCU’s EAS partner).
  • Confidentiality: Your identity and personal details are protected by Spectrum Life case managers and counsellors.

What you get

1) “In the Moment” support
  • 30 minute phone consultation per issue (non-clinical concerns).
  • Available Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm with an offer of a consultation within five business days.
  • Experts can support you directly or signpost relevant external services.
2) Employee Assistance Service (EAS) counselling
  • Up to 6 counselling sessions where required.
  • Confidential, solution focused support for personal or work related concerns.
3) Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT
  • Clinically led Cognitive Behavioural Therapy pathways to build skills, increase engagement and support recovery.
4) Signposting
  • To external specialist / long term counselling where clinically appropriate.
5) Psychoeducation
  • On self-care, coping skills, emotional regulation 
6) Wellbeing platform & app
  • A tailored digital hub with expert content on mental wellbeing, fitness and nutrition.

Spectrum Life is DCU’s appointed provider for the Employee Assistance Service, delivering counselling, expert consultations, online CBT and a comprehensive wellbeing platform.

Confidentiality

All services delivered through Spectrum Life are treated in the strictest confidence. Individual identities and personal details are safeguarded at all times by Spectrum Life case managers and counsellors.

Language support: Your first interaction will be in English. For ongoing sessions, counsellors who speak your first language (including Irish) can be arranged. Depending on locations, some sessions may be remote rather than in-person.
