What do DCU's values look like, in practice?

We're inviting staff to a series of interactive sessions to define the everyday behaviours that bring DCU's values to life and to shape the framework that will guide how we lead, collaborate and work together.

DCU's values are an important part of who we are. This is a chance to move beyond the words themselves and explore the behaviours and ways of working that bring those values to life across the University, in how we teach, research, support one another and make decisions.

These sessions are part of Living Our Values, DCU's wider initiative to turn our values into everyday practice under the Values in Action pillar of the Our DCU Employee Engagement Framework. What's shared in the room will directly shape how DCU defines, supports and recognises these behaviours going forward.

What to expect

The sessions will use a World Café-style format, creating space for colleagues to share their experiences and perspectives on how our values are lived across DCU.

You’ll have the opportunity to consider what helps our values come to life, where there may be differences in how they are experienced, and what could make them more visible across the University.

The insights from these conversations will help us develop a clear and practical set of behaviours that bring DCU’s values to life. These will support how we work across the University, including how we lead, collaborate and make decisions.

Most sessions are for a specific staff group, professional, academic or researcher, so conversations can speak to shared context. There are also two all-staff sessions for anyone who'd rather a mixed-group conversation, or whose group's date doesn't work.
