Trans Allyship in Action: A Workshop for Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV) [Online]
Course Code: DCU247
In the current social, political, and cultural climate, LGBTQ+ rights are at risk around the globe. Disinformation, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment, and hate crimes are on the rise, especially in regard to the transgender and non-binary community. Now, more than ever, it's important to stand in solidarity with our trans friends, family, students and colleagues.
This Transgender Day of Visibility, join Certified Proud's Benjamin Foley (he/him) for a workshop on trans allyship, and gain insight into the lives of DCU's transgender community. You'll hear about his lived experiences as a transgender man, deconstruct myths about transgender people, and find out what you can do to support your transgender colleagues, students, neighbours and loved ones.
This workshop will also include a Q&A session, during which you can ask Benjamin any burning questions you may have - whether it's about pronouns, bathrooms, language, or labels. He doesn't believe in stupid questions!
