Physical Wellbeing relates to our physical health, including nutrition, exercise and sleep hygiene. Taking care of our body is equally as important as taking care of our minds, as they work together to determine health.
A focus on physical wellbeing is crucial for fostering a healthy, productive, and positive work environment and for helping you to maintain a good work-life balance.
DCU Sports Centre
DCU Sport offers state-of-the-art facilities incorporating health and wellness to meet all your exercise and leisure needs. Check out everything you need to know on the DCU Sport website.
The Centre also offers Special Rates for DCU employees and run many classes and programmes that are available to all staff.
Occupational Health
DCU People is dedicated to supporting you to remain motivated and healthy while working at the University. We work closely with the University’s Occupational Health Advisors, Medmark and the University’s Health & Safety Office to ensure colleagues are well at work, both physically and mentally. Health Insurance
Staff can compare the cost and benefits of health insurance policies using the independent website run by the Health Insurance Authority.

Important: If you select a provider other than VHI, payment must be arranged directly with the insurer. DCU Payroll cannot facilitate deductions for these policies.
Health and Safety Office
The DCU Health and Safety Office provides the guidance and information required to - as far as reasonably practicable to keep staff, students and visitors safe on DCU campuses.
