Procedure for Withdrawal of the Adjunct Title

The University reserves the right to remove the Adjunct Faculty Member or Adjunct Professor title in accordance with the procedures outlined, should the titleholder create a risk of reputational damage to the University.

  • The Executive Dean will consult with the VPP EDI regarding the rationale for the potential withdrawal of the Adjunct title. Subject to agreement between both parties, the VPP EDI will provide written rationale for the withdrawal of the title to the President for consideration. The President will review and discuss the rationale with both the Executive Dean and the VPP EDI and any other senior stakeholder deemed appropriate.

  • Following these consultations, should the President decide to proceed with the withdrawal of the title process, the President will present a written recommendation to the University Executive. Should the Executive approve the recommendation, the individual concerned will have the opportunity to appeal before a final decision is made. Any such appeal will be heard by a member of the Governing Authority. Should the appeal not be upheld, the recommendation will be submitted to the Governing Authority for a final decision.

  • If the withdrawal of the Adjunct title is approved, the titleholder will receive formal written notification confirming the revocation of the title, including the reasons for the decision.
