Prof. Teresa Burke holds an Established Chair (Full Professorship) at the School of Psychology, Dublin City University. Prior to her appointment to DCU in 2013, she was employed in the School of Psychology, University College Dublin (UCD), where she taught courses and conducted research in the areas of neuropsychology and behavioural neuroscience. After completing her PhD in UCD in 1987, she completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital in Canada, under the direction of Dr. Brenda Milner. Since returning to Dublin in 1989, she has pursued an active research programme focusing on the effects of neurological diseases and chronic illness on cognitive and behavioural functioning. She is a widely published expert in the field of clinical neuropsychology and she is credited with having made a significant contribution to the development of clinical neuropsychology in Ireland.
