The purpose of this information sheet is to allow you view all modules connected to the Qualification, optional and core. You should print this sheet out and then continue to the next step where your registration will take place.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you register correctly

PATHWAY 1:

Students taking both languages at Intermediate level (i.e. honours Leaving Certificate or equivalent) choose Pathway 1.

Intermediate Languages offered: French, German, Spanish.

OR

PATHWAY 2:

Students taking one language at intermediate level (i.e. honours Leaving Certificate or equivalent) and one language at

ab-initio level. Ab Initio Languages offered German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese (i.e. beginners / no prior knowledge of the language) choose Pathway 2.

Students are not permitted to change Language after Semester 1 of Year 1

In Year Two students will choose to specialise in either Translation Studies or Intercultural Studies

Pathway 1 students AND Pathway 2 students must chose all of the following core modules:

SEMESTER 1

Choose ALL of the following modules:

 (If chosing one intermediate language and one beginners language please go directly to Pathway 2 to chose the rest of your modules)

PATHWAY 1

If you are choosing French, German or Spanish at Intermediate level (i.e. honours Leaving Certificate or equivalent) choose Two of the following modules

(e.g If taking both French and German at Intermediate level then choose BOTH FR190 and GE190.)

Year Long Modules

Choose one of the following modules (to correspond with FR, GE or SP190 chosen from Year Long modules)

(i.e if FR190 chosen, choose FR130, etc.)

If your SECOND Intermediate Language is French, German or Spanish choose ONE of the following:

(i.e if German is your second intermediate language then choose GE130, etc.)

Semester 2 Optional Modules

Choose the following Module (LC110) only if you are taking both of your languages at Intermediate Level:

You must choose a module from Option 1.

Option 1

Choose one of the following (to correspond with First Language chosen from Year Long modules)

(i.e if FR190 chosen, choose FR140, etc):

Choose one module from Option 2

Option 2

Choose one of the following (to correspond with Second Language chosen from Year Long modules)

(i.e if German is your second intermediate language then choose GE140, etc.)

PATHWAY 2

First language at Intermediate level (i.e. honours Leaving Certificate or equivalent) and second language at beginners level.

If taking French, German or Spanish at Intermediate level, choose ONE of the following Year long modules:

Students MUST choose their beginners language from Option 1.

Option 1

Choose your Beginners language from one of the following Year long modules:

PLUS Choose Intermediate Language(i.e. honours Leaving Certificate or equivalent) from Option 2

Option 2

If your Intermediate Language is French, German or Spanish choose ONE of the following:

Semester 2 Optional Modules

Option 1

Choose one of the following (corresponding with Option 1 language chosen, i.e. if GE110 was chosen, choose GE191 etc.)

Choose one of the following (To correspond with Language chosen from Year Long modules)

(i.e. if FR190 chosen, choose FR140, etc.)

At the end of Year 1, you will choose to specialise in either Translation Studies or Intercultural Studies.
