The Next Steps (Online Vetting Application)
Once your documents are validated, you will receive an email from the National Vetting Bureau inviting you to complete the online vetting application. The email will be sent to the email address that you put on your NVB1 Vetting form.
Sometimes these emails get filtered so please check your SPAM folder as the email may land there.
Please log in and complete the application as soon as you receive the email as the vetting process cannot commence until you complete this step.
If you don’t receive the email within a few days, email studentvetting@dcu.ie for assistance.
If you are under 18 the email will go to the parent / guardian email address listed on your NVB1 form.
When completing your vetting application, please answer the two mandatory "Yes/No" questions as follows:
Does the role involve working with children?
Tick YES for most programmes
Tick NO only for the MSc in Specialist Nursing or MSc in Psychotherapy programmes.
Have you lived outside the EU/UK?
Tick YES if you have lived in any country other than Ireland (including the UK or other EU nations).
Address History: You must list all address you have held in Ireland, the UK, EU and Non-EU countries on your application.
Important: Double-check that your address dates overlap correctly so there are no gaps in your history.
Convictions or Pending Court Cases: Please note that you must include any convictions or pending court cases on your application.
