Dr. Deirdre Murray is an Associate Professor in Neurorehabilitation and Technology in the School of Health and Human Performance, supporting the DCU MSc Physiotherapy programme. She completed her PhD in RCSI in 2013, which focused on mobility, muscle strength and accessible exercise in Polio survivors. Research interests include multidisciplinary management and clinical measurement of people with neuromuscular conditions, particularly Motor Neurone Disease and the incorporation of technology-based solutions and telemedicine into clinical care and research. Research has been supported by awards from the Health Research Board including as co-PI on a Collaborative Doctoral Award 2022, Research Motor Neuron (RMN) and the Post Polio Support Group Ireland. Other areas of interest include accessibility of activity and exercise for people with disability related to neurological conditions, spasticity management and vestibular rehabilitation.
