Welcome to the Faculty of Science and Health at Dublin City University, where we are dedicated to cutting-edge research in natural and human sciences. With a rich and diverse range of research disciplines and leading research centres, we tackle global and societal challenges through fundamental exploration to industrial applications, with a proven record of driving interdisciplinary research.

Our research extends to future technologies, including sensors, plasma, microfluidics, and biotechnologies, with applications in water science, environmental sustainability, material science, nano-fabrication, energy and life sciences. For example, in the life sciences, we explore cell biology, cancer research, neurotherapeutics, integrated health care, health systems, psychology, and human performance.

Our strong involvement in fundamental science research, including astronomy and relativity as well as nuclear fusion, drives the advancement of knowledge and discovery of new phenomena. This is a key strategy to build links with the foundations for our future technology developments.

At the Faculty of Science and Health, we believe that public engagement is critical, and we conduct engaged research while also focusing on research for STEM teaching and learning.

Our objective is to translate our research into innovative solutions for real-world problems. We work closely with all stakeholders, including industry, the public, patients groups, and policy makers to achieve this goal. By collaborating with these groups, we can ensure that our research has a positive impact on society.

We are committed to driving innovation and excellence in research. At the Faculty of Science and Health, we are excited about the possibilities for our research to positively impact the world.
