Robin Taylor receives Special Olympic award for coaching young athletes
The 10-month project, set for completion by next September, addresses a gap in sports science, where current coaching research largely focuses on able-bodied performers. Robin’s initiative will lead to the development of a much-needed evidence-informed position statement.
The comprehensive work involves conducting international focus groups with athletes and coaches across various continents to gather diverse, firsthand perspectives. The key outcomes will include two peer-reviewed publications and a complete position statement, which will serve as a global guideline, ensuring Special Olympics athletes receive coaching tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
