Interconnections between Mathematics and Science - Science and Mathematics Education Conference

The SMEC conference this year will take place in St Patrick's College and will concentrate on the interconnections between science and mathematics at all levels of education from primary to third level.

Conference Themes:

  • How essential is a good foundation in Mathematics for the teaching and learning of Science?
  • How well do teaching methodologies translate between Science and Mathematics?
  • Are recent interventions in Science and Mathematics syllabi and assessment at all levels having the expected impacts?
  • Are there lessons to be learned from research in neuroscience, on how we learn Mathematics and Science ?
