School of Nursing & Human Sciences

With the support of the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing Midwifery, and the Office of the Vice President for Learning and Innovation, the School of Nursing is developing a pilot project for elearning and mixed mode delivery of selected modules

An increasing number of modules are now being taught using mixed mode delivery, using both traditional methods and the use of the new technologies.

Moodle - an open source platform VLE provides the integrated, user-friendly, platform for web-based dissemination, communication, and interaction between academic staff, tutors, demonstrators and students. It is being used in a wide variety of ways to complement traditional, face-to-face teaching.

Underpinning the mixed mode of delivery of programmes within the School of Nursing is Chasetown. Chasetown is an acroynm for community health and social environment. It is a virtual learning environment which mimics the real world with patient / client case studies and scenarios.
