Biographical Details

Catherine is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences DCU. She lectures in Intellectual Disability Nursing focusing on physical health issues, wellbeing and quality of life for people with intellectual disability and positive behavioural support. Additionally Catherine teaches a module entitled Pursuing Human Happiness on the BSc in Health and Society. Catherine commenced working in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences in 2002 and has held many leadership roles in the School during this time. These include BSc in Nursing Programme Chair ( General, Mental Health, Intellectual Disability and General and Children's Integrated), Deputy Head of School, Head of School and Faculty Undergraduate Teaching Convenor for the School of Nursing and Human Sciences. Catherine completed here Doctorate in Education in 2015 with a thesis entitled Happiness in the Workplace: An Appreciative Inquiry

Catherine's research interests include wellbeing and people with intellectual disability, social inclusion of people with intellectual disability ,positive leadership and wellbeing in the workplace
