Prof. Teresa Burke took up the position of Chair of Psychology at the School of Nursing and Human Sciences, Dublin City University in August 2013. Prior to that, she held the post of Senior Lecturer (Neuropsychology) in the School of Psychology, University College Dublin, where she taught courses in neuropsychology and behavioural neuroscience at both undergraduate and graduate level. She now holds the position of Visiting Professor at her alma mater. After completing her PhD in UCD in 1987, she completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the world-renowned Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital in Canada. Since returning to Dublin in 1989, she has pursued an active research programme in clinical neuropsychology. Her primary research interests are the effects of neurological diseases and chronic illness on cognitive functioning. She is a widely published expert in the field and she has made a significant contribution to the development of neuropsychology in Ireland.
