School of Nursing & Human Sciences

Opportunities for Enterprise

  • The School has a range of theory and practice-focused continuing development modules for nurses and other healthcare professionals. These can be taken on a stand-alone basis, ensuring credits without signing up for a full programme. Some have been developed in partnership with e.g. Health Service Executive and statutory and voluntary bodies.  To apply for a current module, or to develop a new one, contact Dr Liam Mac Gabhann.
  • We are in a strong position to provide expert, nuanced policy advice to Government Departments, and service development and delivery expertise to statutory and voluntary providers. Some of our staff are active in the media, explaining the challenges facing the health services and offering possible solutions.
  • With cutting-edge facilities for test-driving sensory technologies, we are ideally placed as a test bed for start-ups and established firms wishing to try out prototypes for supporting independent living.
  • For Universities and Institutes of Technology seeking to increase their use of video and web in teaching and curriculum, DCU is leading the way and in a position to consult on opportunities and best practice.
