AIP Social Impact Prize 2025 Awarded to DCU's Dr Marta Prandelli
This annual award recognises projects that apply social psychology to support communities, public institutions, and civic engagement, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, social transformation, and academic–societal partnerships.
Her winning proposal, “Bodies, Rights, and Representations: Social Practices for the Recognition of Intersex People in Italy,” brings together a series of public, educational, scientific, and advocacy-based initiatives carried out in 2024. These initiatives aim to raise awareness and challenge stigma around intersex experiences by blending social psychology with public discourse and participatory action.
They were developed in collaboration with grassroots organisations, universities, and public institutions, and are embedded within CHRISALIS, a two-year project led by Dr Prandelli at Dublin City University, funded by the European Union under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme (HORIZON-MSCA-2021-PF-01; Grant ID: 101067189).
