Mary received her Bachelor of Education degree from St. Patrick’s College in 2012. She recently completed the Master of Education programme in Dublin City University, specialising in mathematics education. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on the topic of probability under the supervision of Dr Aisling Twohill (DCU), Dr Siún Nic Mhuirí (DCU) and Professor Merrilyn Goos (UL). She is aiming to establish a framework of growth points that describe the development of young children’s probabilistic thinking. Mary is a member of the Centre for the Advancement STEM Teaching and Learning (CASTeL). Prior to joining DCU Institute of Education, Mary worked as a primary teacher in North Dublin.

Academic biography
Mary Kingston is an Assistant Professor in the School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies, lecturing in the area of mathematics education. She has responsibility for teaching across a range of modules in the school relating to mathematics education.Mary received her Bachelor of Education degree from St. Patrick’s College in 2012. She recently completed the Master of Education programme in Dublin City University, specialising in mathematics education. She is currently undertaking a PhD focused on the topic of probability under the supervision of Dr Aisling Twohill (DCU), Dr Siún Nic Mhuirí (DCU) and Professor Merrilyn Goos (UL). She is aiming to establish a framework of growth points that describe the development of young children’s probabilistic thinking.
