Year 2 Strategic Achievement
Progress continues to be made under the DCU Strategy 2023 - 2028.
The Year 2 update of the strategy shows substantial progress made in each of the plan’s five pillars: Transformative Student Experience, Valuing Staff, Research Impact, Engagement and Organisational Resilience.
Student Experience

Progress for Year 2 includes:
- Year 4 of DCU Futures delivered
- New Transversal Skills (MySkills) platform embedded into 15 programmes
- Guidance on the use of AI in major reports/student research adopted in all faculties
- Plan in place for the first DCU offering to be delivered on Drogheda Institute of Further Education (DIFE) campus
- Careers service audit complete for 246 programmes
- National Access targets achieved
- Complete SIS implementation
Staff

Progress for Year 2 includes:
- Staff Engagement Survey conducted and OUR DCU Action Plan updated accordingly
- Rollout of Living the Values Programme across all faculties and units
- EDI Monitoring and reporting framework established
- Audit of current Leadership Development programmes demonstrates alignment with the SWP requirements
- HR systems and processes more streamlined and effective
- 75% of staff report new People website as enhancing:
- Enhancing communications
- Improving accessibility
- Streamlining user interactions
Research

Progress for Year 2 includes:
- Publishing targets achieved
- All faculties are in implementation phases of local strategies to reach these goals
- Research Impact Website fully operational with at least 20 case studies
- Postgraduate Research numbers are now 22% above strategy baseline
- New research guidance international joint and double-award doctorates will be approved and in place
Engagement

Progress for Year 2 includes:
- New civic engagement partnership - via the Public Participation Network (PPN) - is in place
- Funding for seven artists in residence
- Three new strategic industry partnerships signed
- DCU Innovate (merger of DCU Invent and DCU Alpha) complete
- Alumni mentorship grown by 5%
- Alumni database has grown
Organisational Resilience

- Annual cybersecurity exercise conducted
