Message from Claire

Dear Students,

Hopefully you all remembered to adjust your clocks and are not operating in a parallel world an hour behind everyone else! Soon, the mornings will be brighter again and we'll have those lovely Spring and Summer days to look forward to.

For now, keep the heads down and remember that all of our support services operate year round, so if you need somebody to talk to about anything, please contact student.support@dcu.ie.

Wishing you all a very productive week!

Claire

DCU Darkness Into Light 2026

Darkness Into Light 2026 is Pieta’s (the national charity for suicide and self-harm prevention) biggest fundraiser, a 5km walk which will take place at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday, 9th of May, 2026

The funds raised through Darkness Into Light support Pieta’s lifesaving free services to people in your community that have been affected by suicide or self-harm.

This inspiring event also symbolises hope, as communities come together to support mental health, suicide and self-harm prevention.

It is DCU’s ninth year hosting a Darkness Into Light Walk.

Volunteers are crucial to the running of this special event.

Register to volunteer as a steward through StudentVolunteer.ie to add hours to your Volunteer Portfolio and boost your CV!
