Orientation 2021 (1st Years)

Undergraduate Orientation On-campus (20th to 24th)

On campus Orientation takes place the week of 20th to 24th September. This includes Programme Orientation and General Orientation activities. 

Programme Orientation: 

Your programme orientation takes places this week, dates and times depend on your programme. You can find your Programme Specific information in your Programme Calendar on My DCU @ Loop. You will need your user name and password to gain access. Click here to access My DCU.

These lists act as a guide for Programme Orientation and full details (including group information where applicable) can be found on your Programme Calendar on your Programme Page on Loop. 

Important: Your programme team may be in contact with you directly so please also check your email (personal and DCU).

Please note that rooms and times are subject to change and you should check your programme calendars on your programme page in Loop regularly.

 

General Orientation:

General orientation events take place on campus and online this week. Information on these events can be found on My DCU at Loop or dcusu.ie

Check you’re heading to the right campus. The list below should provide you with sufficient information to find your way.

Rooms for Orientation are listed on the Programme Calendars with their codes – for example, XG19 means: X (Lonsdale Building), G (Ground Floor), 19 (Room Number). If in doubt, ask one of the Student Helpers!

My DCU (Orientation Hub)

Visit My DCU, your general online orientation hub designed for all incoming students. You will be able to log in to My DCU at Loop as soon as you receive your username and password from the Registry. To log in, click on the links below with your credentials.

  • Log on to My DCU early and work through the interactive activities.
  • Work through Discover DCU, our online transitions programme designed to help you settle in.
  • Participate in self-directed activities, collect experience points and fun competitions!
  • Access your Orientation calendars for your online and on campus activities over the Orientation period. 
  • Click on the ‘Ask’ button to link in with our DCU Student Advice Centre team.

    Undergraduate Overview

    My DCU Events - Live Online
    (Wed 15th to Fri 17th September 2021)

    • There will be a mix of online, live webinars from 12pm to 2pm daily. These fun events are brought to you by DCU Students’ Union and professional support services and are designed to help you get ready.

    • Faculty-specific Active *Consent workshops (40mins) will run between 3pm and 4:15pm. Check your schedule on My DCU for details about your workshop.
    • There will be no onsite activities during this week.

    This event takes place on Tuesday 14th September 2021 and will begin with a live webinar session for all 1st Year Access students to meet the full Access Service Team. Zoom links will be sent directly to all students by their Access Support Officers to attend.
