DCU Driving Sustainable Development
Student Engagement
Glasnevin Campus
Actively engaging with our students is of utmost priority at DCU- the University seeks to ensure that we support the development of the necessary skills our students will need to thrive in a climate impacted future. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a pillar of our Teaching and Learning Strategy, and sustainable literacy is a prominent feature of our DCU Futures initiative.
DCU is committed to:
- Provision of opportunities for students to develop sustainability competencies
- Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) mapping and integration which incorporates sustainability in a pedagogically-relevant manner
- Continuous support for the An Taisce Green Campus Programme. In 2025/2026 the SU Subcommittee on Sustainability will amalgamate with the DCU Green Committee and will be co-chaired by the Vice-President for Community and Citizenship, DCU Students' Union and the Chair of the DCU Climate Action Society to enable collective action across the student body.
