The Loop Reflect Awards celebrate outstanding student achievements through the innovative use of the Loop Reflect learning portfolio. This annual event shines a spotlight on exemplary student work, demonstrating how ePortfolios can powerfully showcase academic achievements, personal growth, and professional readiness. Students bring their learning journeys to life through rich storytelling and carefully selected artefacts, presenting their accomplishments in ways that are both creative and impactful.

A panel of expert judges evaluates submissions based on the following key criteria:

• Demonstration of Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  How effectively does the portfolio present relevant evidence and arguments to showcase the student’s capabilities?
• Depth of Reflection
  To what extent does the student critically reflect on their learning experiences, challenges, and growth?
• Design and Originality
  How creatively and thoughtfully is the portfolio designed? Does it reflect a unique voice and perspective?

First Place Winner - Individual Portfolio

“I really enjoyed the design process when creating my Loop Reflect page. Combining Loop Reflect with Canva was particularly valuable, as it allowed me to express creativity and present my assignment in a clear, visually engaging way. Designing the layout helped me communicate my ideas more effectively and make the content easier to understand. However, I did experience some technical issues. At times, tabs shifted position after editing, creating alignment problems that required additional adjustments. Despite these challenges, the project gave me an opportunity to approach an assignment in a more creative and engaging way than usual.”

Second Place Winner - Individual Portfolio

“I have used Loop Reflect to create a journal to reflect on my final year as an undergraduate student in DCU. It has been a great way for me to discuss my achievements and challenges while undertaking my undergraduate research project in a highly personal and creative way, which we don't often get to do in academia. I have tried to make my Loop Reflect page as colourful as possible and included a lot of photos of my experiences over the last few months. The purpose of this is to make writing in my reflective journal an enjoyable and meaningful process, rather than just viewing it as another assignment component.”

Third Place Winner - Individual Portfolio

“Using Loop reflect to create this page was a really positive experience. I used it in a reflection-style blog format to neatly showcase the work I've done over the past two years, especially projects related to data analytics. It helped me clearly present my skills with working with applications like Excel, word etc., while also reflecting on how these skills have developed over time. Being able to bring past projects together in one place made it easier to see my progress and learning journey. Overall, it was a simple and effective way to present my work and growth.”

“Using Loop Reflect to build this portfolio allowed me to present my Hackathon experience in a way that feels both reflective and professional. I found the platform intuitive and helpful in structuring my ideas clearly. The ability to integrate images and visual elements strengthened the narrative and made the page more engaging rather than text-heavy. It encouraged me to think more critically about how I communicate my learning, not just what I learned. Overall, the layout and design features helped me create a cohesive and polished representation of my work.”
